Why I’m Running

“Hi, my name is Jim Alvey, and I am running to represent our community in the Utah State House. I am a lifelong resident of Ogden. I was born in the old Dee Hospital and grew up right on Harrison Boulevard. I attended and graduated from Weber State College. I have lived in District 10 my entire life. It’s where we have raised our six boys, built a small business, and served my church and community. I care deeply about the future of our state and district. I am running to create a better future for our children and grandchildren.”

Weber County isn’t just where I live. It’s home.

It’s where I grew up, where my wife and I raised our six boys, and where I’ve built a life I’m proud of. Now, I want to make sure this is a place where our kids and grandkids can build a great future, too.

I’m running for the Utah House to fight for greater affordability, protect our water and the Great Salt Lake, and make sure the people of our community have a strong, accessible voice at the Capitol.

I’d be honored to earn your support.
